With the spring season approaching and more storms popping up and the QRN level rising, it will become more difficult to hear signals. With less activity there will be fewer of my DX Newsletters. As always, I’ll keep you posted on any breaking news.
Hello dear old man Joseph.
Thank you for writing and for the invitation to make QSOs in the band of 60 meters.
I am fond of the radio but especially in CW mode.
For your information I commented that in Spain the telecommunications authorities have applied for the band of 60 mtr. IARU protocol, amateur radio in Spain, we should use from January 1, 2016, frequencies and power that has been approved by the IARU from January 2017.
We can only transmit from 5351.5 MHz to 5366.5 MHz and maximum power of 15 Wat (P.I.R.E).
I have made QSOs with HA4YF, EA5AHN, EA7AIN, EA5RU, LB6BG, HA8MV, LA7SI, ON5SE, ON7GB, 9A2KD, and ON4PS
73’s dr Joseph, for you and yours.
Romania Joins 5 MHz:
News has broken that the Romanian telecomms regulator ANCOM has granted YO amateurs access to 5 MHz on a scheduled testing basis, starting 8 Apr 2016 for approximately a year’s duration. At the moment it is limited to the 3 kHz-wide 5363.5 - 5366.5 kHz slot, CW, PSK, RTTY and WSJT (with possibly other digimodes to follow) being permitted. Maximum power allowed is 15W e.i.r.p. and only for those YO hams who wish to register for the testing program.
It seems that the initial testing in the YO 5MHz test allocation will take place every Thursday around 16.00 UTC, concomitantly with the YO DX QTC Net on 3750KHz. Further information can be obtained from the website of the Romanian national amateur radio society; Federatia Romana de Radioamatorism – FRR – at http://www.hamradio.ro/Comunicate/2004201601

A group of OPs from Wales under the leadership of Glyn (GW0ANA) invited me to an operation from Guernsey using the call GP4BRS. Tonight I will show at 23:00Z on 5403,5 SSB (QSL to DJ6OI).
Hope to find you there. Our conditions here are very very difficult !!!!
