Correction to License Classes permitted to Use Uruguay 60m Allocation:

An entry (p.11) in the RCU - Uruguay national society’s bulletin CX511 has an FAQ section concerning the new Uruguay Amateur Radio Regulations and in particular about 60m operation http://wwwcx1aa.org/boletines/Boletin%20CX%20511.pdf

This indicates that currently access to the new Uruguay WRC-15 allocation is permitted only to Superior class license holders.

Saba + St. Eustatius: By Frank PH2M

60M / 5 MHz. Operations planned (USB-ONLY!) from the Dutch Caribbean Islands of Saba + St. Eustatius

(Sorry 60M / 5 MHz. operations from Sint Maarten (PJ7) are still NOT allowed !)

I will try to operate SPLIT for North America and other countries who are not allowed to use the new IARU 60M band plan (see below!) QSO's will

be made according the rules below using a Dual band EndFed wire antenna for 60M + 15M (*) in USB-only!

The following 60m news comes from the Branch Manager / Senior Inspector Dutch Caribbean, Agentschap Telecom in Bonaire:

"Recently Agentschap Telecom (AT) has updated the frequency plan for Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba with the addition of the 60 meter band

(5 351.5 - 5 366.5 kHz) for amateur radio, this with a secondary status. This means that the band may be operated by A, B or C Amateurs (full

licence). The band has footnote 5.133B which limits the power in the Caribbean region of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to 25 Watt (e.i.r.p.)."

(*) Thanks to Hans Dijkerman PE1RNU from suppling this (partly sponserd) antenna within a very short time!

Hungary hams QRT on 60m:

I am sorry to report that HA stations are not allowed on 60 meters since May 1, 2017. The previous temporary license expired, and there is no decision on the extension. We certainly hope that the Hungarian authorities do not run counter the European trend, which is the licensing of the band.

We will keep you informed, but currently any HA on 60m are unlis :(.

3Y0 - BOUVET ISLAND: From their website

The January-February, 2018 3Y0Z Bouvet Island DXpedition team has posted a propagation page on their website (http://www.bouvetdx.org).

It has videos showing propagation predictions for that early 2018 timeframe.  The tab for the propagation is in the header menu.  You

can choose time, frequency and signal strength for your QTH.  This is based on the average sunspot numbers forecast for January, 2018.

60m Website: The 60m website is at www.60metersonline.com

Please send your station picture with you in it to webmaster@60metersonline.com and he will be happy to post it with the others. It’s nice to put a face with a call. On the website we have a 60m DXCC country count. It has nothing to do with the ARRL DXCC award. Go to Achievements, DX Awards and you’ll see who is on our country leader board. Feel free to send your totals to the webmaster for posting. As you work a new one, advise our webmaster to update your listing webmaster@60metersonline.com _____________________________________________________________________________

If you know of a friend going on a Dxpedition, please encourage them to operate the 60m band and keep me posted so I may pass the word.
