NEW COUNTRY: Mauritania

5T5OK was active on 5400 CW listening up on 5.405. Hopefully he’ll return.



Following a request from the Radio Society of Kenya (RSK), Kenya state radio regulator, CAK (Communications Authority Kenya) advised the RSK that a new 60m allocation has been granted between 5275 kHz and 5450 kHz on a secondary basis. All modes are permitted with a maximum power of 400W PEP.

T2 - Tuvalu

3D2AG, Tony, is planning to do some environmental work on Funafuti Atoll around October 20th, for about a week. He does not have his callsign yet. Tony hopes "to be active during [his] free time on the amateur bands 160m to 6m (including 60m), CW/SSB/RTTY and digital modes (JT65, FT8)". QSL via 3D2AG. KG4 - Guantanamo Bay Three ops are going there in October, with area clearances in hand to allow their visit to the US Navy Base, arrival October 6.  W4WV, callsign KG4WV, Bill, will stay for two weeks, his homeward trip being on October 20th.  W6HGF, callsign KG4HF, Al, will be on that same schedule.  KQ4LA, callsign KG4LA, Jeff, will just be there for a week, his return home is on October 13.  They plan to work all the bands that are open, from 160-6, and on the CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK modes. QSL to their home calls CT9, Madeira ISLAND Operators Manfred/DF5EM, Franz/DF6QV, Juergen/DG7JB, Jan/DJ8NK, Heye/DJ9RR, Dieter/DK4QT, Thomas/DL6TK and Kalle/DM3BJ will be active as CT9/homecall from Santana, Madeira Island (AF-014) between September 17-27th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. They plan to be an entry in the CQWW DX RTTY Contest (September 23-24th) signing CR3W. QSL CR3W via DL5AXX, OQRS (see QRZ.com) or LoTW. New Country Burkina Faso XT2AW: By DF2WO


Harald DF2WO tells me he’ll be at XT2AW starting Sept. 29 to Oct. 30. This will be a one-man operation. He plans to be on 60m about every night. With conditions the way they are, he may be on JT65 and FT8 more than CW or SSB. QSL to M0OXO.




Stan, LZ1GC, will once again be active as H40GC from Temotu Province (OC-100) between September 30th and October 20th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via his home callsign, direct, LoTW or ClubLog's OQRS.

I will be QRV all days on 60 meters.


For USA stations, I will QRV between 12:00 and 12:30 GMT.

For Europe, I will be on 60 m about 07:30 GMT. Please for patience, because I will be also QRV near these times on 160 and 80 meters! During H40GC activity, I will have stops no more 3-4 hours per a day - only for sleep and eat / coffee.

3Y0 - BOUVET ISLAND: From their website

The January-February, 2018 3Y0Z Bouvet Island DXpedition team has posted a propagation page on their website (http://www.bouvetdx.org).  It has videos showing propagation predictions for that early 2018 timeframe.  The tab for the propagation is in the header menu.  You can choose time, frequency and signal strength for your QTH. This is based on the average sunspot numbers forecast for January, 2018.
