I just had a qso with my Friend Ulmar DK1CE

 

He is QRV from Martins Farm in Namibia V51W for 3 Weeks also on 5 Mhz.

 

Call will be V5/DK1CE

3D2 – Rotuma: 3D2EU

A team of five plans to put it on the air February 23 - March 16, 160-10M "all main modes."  The ops are 3D2AG, DJ9RR, DK2AMM, DL6JGN and PA3EWP.  They have requested the 3D2EU callsign and plan on a 60m operation.  QSL via DK2AMM.

 

Tony 3D2AG will sign 3D2AG/p

For Rotuma 2018, please note that 3D2EU is only for the European team, I will join them but use my own callsign (3D2AG/p) on air and QSLs for 3D2AG contacts are direct to me as usual. I should be on air about a week prior to the start of the 3D2EU operation, and a week after.

3Y0 - BOUVET ISLAND: From their website:

 

The January-February, 2018 3Y0Z Bouvet Island DXpedition team has posted a propagation page on their website (http://www.bouvetdx.org).  It has videos showing propagation predictions for that early 2018 timeframe.  The tab for the propagation is in the header menu.  You can choose time, frequency and signal strength for your QTH.  This is based on the average sunspot numbers forecast for January, 2018. 60 m and 630 m bands, and gets others extended

The Radio Club Argentino, IARU Member Society, informs to the international amateur community that has succeeded with its petition to their local communications authorities, having granted new privileges to the Amateur Radio Service -630 m and 60 m- and the extension of existing allocations -160 m, 80 m and 30 m-.The new allocations are the final result of efforts made by the RCA during its participation in the preparatory meetings of WRC '07, '12 and '15; and will be effective in 90 days.

 

New allocations

630 m 472 – 479 kHz

60 m    5351,5 – 5366,5 kHz

 

Extended allocations

160 m  1800 – 2000 kHz

80 m    3500 – 4000 kHz

30 m    10100 – 10150 kHz

Hungary:

 

In late October the Hungarian authority informed the Hungarian Radio Amateur Society that our application for a 60 m license is denied.

 

Again, Hungary seems to put the cart before the horse, as most neighboring countries already opened the band for amateurs. My 1/4 wave vertical remains quiet...
